Poland, officially the Republic of Poland is a unitary sovereign state in Central Europe. Capital is Warsaw. The area is 312,679 square kilometres (120,726 sq mi). With a population of over 38.5 million people, Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European Union. The official language is Polish, a Slavic language. It belongs to the Lechitic subgroup of West Slavic languages.
